From
its birth on 30th June, 1968, Inner Wheel Club, Ajmer,
has traversed a road marked by achievements in its pursuit of
Friendship and Service. It has given a positive and effective
leadership to the District. Its endeavours to serve all
sections of society have been recognised by all, the
people of Ajmer, the District authorities and also the
State Government.
The club was adgudged the best NGO by Rajasthan
Government for its outstanding service projects and honoured
and awarded by the State Government in 1998.
The club's efforts for eradication of polio with in the ambit of
Polio Plus campaign have been recognised and honoured
by the Collector of Ajmer on a number of occasions.
Our member PAP Gulnar Marfatia was the Association
Secretary in 1997-98, and the Association
President in the Silver Jubilee year of the Association
in 2000-2001. She has been elected I.I.W.
Board Director in the year 2003-04.
The club has hosted nine Dist Assemblies, three District
Conferences, four Inter City Meets. At the Association
level the club was the host to the Institute for Incoming Chairmen
at Mount Abu in 1996. In its own Silver Jubilee yearthe
club hosted the II AC Meet in 1992-93.
A glittering Gala Installation of Association President was hosted
in 2001 along with the Ist AC Meet, when Mrs. Gulnar
Marfatia was installed.
The club has instituted Mrs. Sudha Garg
Memorial Award for best project for creating awareness a bout the
spread and treatment of cancer at the district level.

fond memory of his beloved wife and our IIW Board Director Late Mrs.
Gulnar Marfatia, Major Mr. Noshir
Marfatia has donated a running trophy to Inner Wheel
Club. Ajmer to be awarded annually for the most
outstanding social service project in the District along with a cash
award.
The
club has always been in the forefront of any social cause. We have
adopted schools for special children and we have been trying to meet
all their basic needs,
The club has been the moving spirit in the construction and
equipment of a senior citizens 'home' at Pushkar. The
building has been constructed and fully furnished along with all
equipment in the kitchen by the club, and handed over to the
Rajasthan Government Social Welfare Department for its day today
running. More than 8 lacs have been raised and spent
through the generous help and support of our members and their
friends.
Our center 'Kalyani' aimed at imparting various skills
to women who are not well educated so that they can earn their
livelihood is going strong for 30 years. We have also helped in
building and equipping a home science laboratory for a senior
secondary school. This is our on going project.
We
have adopted 3 HIV AIDS orphan and vulnerable children making a
meaningful contribution to the life of children by empowering them
to live life with dignity equity and quality.
In
our community where no woman should die for want of health and care.
We donated 10 Beds, mattresses, Blower-Heaters and 1 ECG Machine
Forty
two years have gone by... momentous, fulfilling years of friendship
and service. We have 54 members and are now welcoming the second
generation of members, with daughters and daughter-in-laws joining.
That is perhaps a tribute to our image at home and abroad.
With the new century and a new generation of ladies at the helm, we
are evolving new blue
prints with innovative strategies for the journey that lies ahead.
